Training for Nominee Directors
Learn about the compliance obligations that apply to Nominee Directors and the firms that provide this service.
One of the key new requirements is that every Nominee Director must complete 8 hours of training on the Prevention of Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, and Financing of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Session content
Regulatory Context of the Prevention of ML/TF/PFWMD.
In this first session you will learn about the current regulations on the Prevention of Money Laundering, TF, PFWMD in the Republic of Panama, and you will receive advice and best practices on their application.
You will learn:
- What the obligations established in the existing regulations are
- Why controls and processes should be implemented in the execution of the Compliance Program
Understanding the client profile.
This session seeks to establish the importance of knowing the clients' profile when providing the Nominee Directors service and what must be requested to document said profile.
By the end you will be able to:
- Identify how much you know about your clients.
- Define what information and documentation you must request from your clients to know them.
Risk-based approach: how to apply it.
In that session you will learn about the existing differences in the various risksegmentations and how each one requires a different approach.
Topics we will cover:
- What the criteria for risk identification are.
- How identifying the risk level helps to know clients.
Unusual Operations, Suspicious Operations, and Red Flags.
In our last session we will explain what the signals that allow identifying unusual operations and suspicious operations on the part of clients are, and how to proceed if any arises.
By the end you will know:
- How the client's behavior can reveal red flags to us
- What to expect from our clients.
